Problem is, TSA doesn’t compile very accurate information, so as BusinessWeek Online reports, once you’re on the list it’s impossible to get off. BusinessWeek – The System That Doesn’t Safeguard Travel.

  1. Am I the only one that is very worried about the existence of this thing. I didnt even know such a thing existed until recently when several articles started poping up about the lawsuit. And yet this has been in existence since shortly after 9/11. How could such a thing be allowed without the american people knowing that such a fundamental right as the right to travel is being interfered with by our government? It seems since 9/11 we are allowing more and more of our personal liberties to be restricted by the government. It seems ridiculous that we can allow the government to restrict something so fundamental as the right to travel. I dont know if im on either of the lists, but i do know that whenever i flew after 9/11 i was almost always forced to undergo extra screening and i was usually treated very rudely, almost as if they thought i was a terrorist. I dont think we should overlook the existence of this thing as something minor, it is interfering with our basic rights as an american. The interference it is causing with hundreds of americans travel plans is in my opinion ridiculous. Yes airline safety is an issue, but insuring iut shoudl not cost the flights and the personal privacy of hundreds of innocent americans

  2. After flying around the country this fall, I learned I’m on the selectee list for special searchs at the airport. No body seems to know why I’m on the list. One person at TSA said it’s because my last name probably matches someone who is on the no fly list. I thought TSA was doing a good job, but now I’m beginning to wonder. Is it because I’m a member of the NRA or the Republican Party? It reminds me of a time several years ago when the FBI was looking for someone in Arizona wearing a cowboy hat. I don’t think they ever found their man.
