Oort Cloud

ISON is the little comet who could. With an orbit taking it into the solar atmosphere itself, one would think it’d be burned up, But, oh no; this little guy (just 3 miles long) has other ideas.

You just cannot help but admire it and hope ISON survives for another go-round after returning to the way, way out Oort Cloud. If it endures its roller coaster ride around the Sun, ISON should emerge for Earthlings’ viewing pleasure in early December. Quite how impressive it turns out to be remains to be seen. I’ll be watching.
