Candidate Hillary Clinton may be saying things like “It’s not over until the lady in the pants-suit says it is.” But the fact is that Hillary and her fanatics still don’t get that her ship has sailed, that only Clinton can’t hear the fat lady sing and that the Democrats will self-destruct yet again if they battle-to-the-death until August. Nor do the Republicans realize that Obama has been widely underestimated because everyone else refights the battles of yesteryear. The political tactics of this campaign look like the old days and the issues are almost entirely the same, but this just may be the time when “100 years” replaces Willie Horton as the “values” issue for the American electorate. OTOH, never underestimate the resolve of conservatives and the political stupidity of liberals.
